Abstract

Export value through loading port in North Sumatera in May 2017 decreased compared to April 2017, from US $ 776.10 million to US $ 770.81 million or decreased by 0.68 percent. However, compared to May 2016, North Sumatra's exports increased by 32.26 percent.
The biggest increase in export value in May 2017 came from the coffee, tea and spices group (HS 09) of US $ 8.46 million (24.85%), while the largest export decrease occurred in the chemical product category (HS 38) $ 14.16 Million (-19.22%)
Exports to the United States in May 2017 were the largest of US $ 109.96 million followed by India at US $ 83.05 million and China with US $ 62.31 million with contribution of 33.12 percent.
According to export-group countries in May 2017, the Asian region (outside ASEAN) was the largest with a value of US $ 247.21 million (32.07 percent).
