Abstract

  • The number of foreign tourists visiting North Sumatera through 3 (three) entrances in February 2017 reached 16,637 visits, decreasing 17.69 percent compared to those in January 2017 reaching 20,212 visits. Similarly, when compared to the same month in 2016, the number of foreign tourists in February 2017 decreased 6.20 percent, from 17,737 visits in February 2016 to 16,637 visits.
  • The period of January-February 2017, the number of foreign tourists increased 19.48 percent compared to the same period in 2016, ie from 30,840 visits in 2016 to 36,849 visits in 2017.
  • In February 2017, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors, with 9,593 visits or 45.80 percent of total foreign tourists visiting in North Sumatra.
  • The star-rated room occupancy rate (TPK) of star-rated hotels in North Sumatera in February 2017 reached an average of 43.44 percent, up 3.00 points compared to January 2017 of 40.44 percent.
  • The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in February 2017 reached 1.50 days, down 0.04 points compared to January 2017.
  • The number of domestic passengers departing from North Sumatra through Kualanamu International Airport during February 2017 reached 259,457 people, down 22.45 percent compared to January 2017 which reached 334,556 people.
  • The number of inter-island sea passengers departing in February 2017 was 3,659 people, down 74.11 percent from 14,131 the previous month.
