Abstract

In March 2017, NTP of North Sumatra Province (2012 = 100) was recorded at 99.77, or down 0.03 percent compared to NTP of February 2017 of 99.80.

The decrease of NTP in March 2017 was caused by the decrease of NTP on the subsector of Food Crops (Rice and Palawija) by 0.41 percent, Horticulture sub-sector by 0.07 percent, Livestock sub-sector by 0.27 percent, and Fishery sub-sector by 0.52 percent. While NTP subsector Plantation Plant
People rose by 0.46 percent.

Changes in Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation / deflation. In March 2017, there was a rural inflation rate in North Sumatra of 0.18 percent. This was caused by the increase of index in five groups of household consumption ie index of food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.43 percent, housing group index by 1.36 percent, clothing index by 0.19 percent, health group index By 0.34 percent, and the education, recreation and sports group index by 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the foodstuff index fell by 0.07 percent, and the transport and communications group index fell by 0.34 percent.

Agricultural Household Trade Rate (NTUP) of North Sumatera Province in March 2017 was 107.40 or decreased 0.10 percent compared to NTUP in the previous month.
