Abstract

  • In February 2017, North Sumatra NTP Province (2012 = 100) was recorded at 99.80 or down 0.52 percent compared with NTP of January 2017 of 100.33.
  • The decrease in NTP in February 2017 was caused by the decrease of NTP in the subsector of Food Crops (Paddy and Palawija) by 2.01 percent, and Horticulture subsector by 2.61 percent. Meanwhile, the Smallholder's Estate Crops increased by 0.73 percent, Livestock subsector rose by 0.64 percent, NTP Fisheries subsector increased by 0.38 percent.
  • Changes in Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation / deflation. In February 2017, there was a rural deflation in North Sumatra of 0.18 percent. This was caused by the decrease of index in three groups of household consumption, the foodstuff index by 0.85 percent, the clothing group index by 0.03 percent, and the education, recreation and sports group index by 0.26 percent. While the index of food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco category rose by 0.04 percent, the housing group index increased by 0.37 percent, the health group index rose by 0.10 percent and the transportation & communication group index rose by 1.55 percent .
  • Agricultural Household Trade Rate (NTUP) of North Sumatera Province of February 2017 was 107.51 or decreased 0.98 percent compared to NTUP in the previous month.
