Abstract

  • In December 2016, North Sumatra NTP Province (2012 = 100) was recorded at 101.56 or an increase of 0.73 percent compared to November 2016 NTP of 100.83.
  • The increase in NTP December 2016 was caused by the increase of NTP in the subsector of Food Crops (rice and palawija) by 0.17 percent, NTP Subsector of Smallholder Plantation increased by 2.03 percent, NTP Livestock Subsector increased 0.10 percent, NTP Fisheries Sub-sector increased by 0 , 67 percent. While the NTP Horticulture Subsector decreased by 0.42 percent.
  • Changes in Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation / deflation. In December 2016, there was a rural inflation rate in North Sumatra of 0.17 percent. This was caused by the increase of index in six groups of household consumption, namely the index of food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group by 0.47 percent, housing group index by 0.24 percent, clothing index by 0.73 percent, Health group by 0.45 percent, education group index, Recreation & sports by 0.16 percent and transportation & communication group index by 0.31 percent. While the foodstuff index fell by 0.11 percent, Agricultural Household Trade Rate (NTUP) of North Sumatera Province December 2016 was 110.01 or up 0.69 percent compared to NTUP in the previous month.
